CARBON

Nowadays FOVS forecasts the future in the use of CARBON FIBRE applied to the eyewear industry. It's a young fibre, but with unique characteristics. Many people talk about it, but how many really know it? Carbon is an up and coming material and its only limitation is that few really know how to use it. Due to the IT industry, we come from the silicon era, but now we’re approaching a new carbon era, one of the top ten most widespread elements in the Earth's surface.
Carbon fibre’s structure is similar to the one of diamond: less compact, but more ductile. We are talking about graphite, less striking than the stone, but equally precious and with unrivalled physical qualities. It’s a semi-metal: very light, resistant and vaguely three-dimensional, even without being a real diamond. The final result in the use of this material depends mostly on the method of processing, and FOVS has developed a technique capable of emphasizing every positive aspect of this precious fibre. Carbon fibre's exceptional properties are many and are based on the various possible mechanical combinations: it is an excellent characteristic that allows the creation of unique products.

FOVS's technical department and design team are at the disposal of anyone who wishes to challenge with new techniques and create the glasses of the future.
